PRESS RELEASE: O.N.E The Duo Proclaims Its Innocence With “Guilty”

The RZA-Commissioned Track Debuts Sept. 8 During the Season 2 Premiere of Wu-Tang: An American Saga (Hulu)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 1, 2021) — O.N.E The Duo — the only mother-daughter singer-songwriter duo in Country music since The Judds — unveils its debut track Guilty (Visionary Media Group) today.

The women behind O.N.E The Duo have deep roots in music royalty: Prana Supreme Diggs is the daughter of RZA, founder and de facto leader of Wu-Tang Clan, and Tekitha is known for her work as the female featured vocalist of Wu-Tang Clan.

Commissioned by RZA, “Guilty” was co-written by O.N.E The Duo along with GRAMMY-winning songwriter/producer Brent Maher and guitar virtuoso/songwriter Joe Robinson. The track was produced by Maher and engineered by Charles Yingling (Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard).

Guilty” will make its TV debut during the Season 2 premiere of the hit biographical drama series RZA created with Alex Tse, Wu-Tang: An American Saga. The episode will debut September 8 on Hulu.

With its empowering, unapologetic lyrics and heartfelt harmonies, the song puts the pair’s signature hybrid Country/Americana style on full display.

Maher, who discovered and produced The Judds and wrote some of their most iconic hits, including "Why Not Me,” says, “These girls can not only sing great but they bring a focus and creative spark to everything we do, from writing the song to making the recording. Incredible talent!”

Prana says, “We wanted a song that would showcase the new approach to music that my mom and I have. ‘Guilty’ was born out of that.”

“This song really comes from the idea of womaning up,” says Tekitha. “It’s about not being afraid and feeling confident taking care of and protecting yourself.”

After moving to Nashville in 2017, the two immersed themselves in the sounds and culture of Music City. Drawing from the artists and genres that inspire them — Chris Stapleton, Fleetwood Mac, The Judds, and Motown — they began writing and recording with top songwriters and producers, crafting a sound that is all their own.

O.N.E The Duo has been invited to perform during AmericanaFest and may be joined by a special guest or two. Their showcase will be held at Cannery Ballroom, Thursday, September 23 at 6:45 PM. In addition, Prana and Tekitha will perform during AmericanaFest’s Musicians Corner series on September 25 (time forthcoming). Musicians Corner is a free concert series for all ages in Nashville's Centennial Park. More information on dates and times can be found here.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this thriving creative community. We can’t wait to play live and share our new music,” says Tekitha. “We hope to see you there!”

“Guilty” kicks off a series of projects soon to come from O.N.E The Duo (“O.N.E” stands for Observant, Noetic, and Effervescent), which will range across the written word, film, and more music releases.
